Harry witnessed Professor McGonagall walking right past Peeves, who was determinedly loosening a crystal chandelier, and could have sworn he heard her tell the poltergeist out of the corner of her mouth,

There’s so many reasons why I love the head of Gryffindor house, which is why she was an easy pick for the list. She’s fiercely loyal to Dumbledore, she’s smart and sarcastic, she’s an older woman but still kicks major ass, and on top of that she can be an old softy when she wants. McGonagall is just plain awesome.
AND SHE CAN TURN INTO A CAT.
